A Vienna-based studio specialised in graphic design, creating bold, concept-based experimental, and evocative works for a multitude of media.

The studio's focus lies on identity and creative direction for people and institutions at the intersection of art, culture, and commerce. The name Es stands for a dynamic agency, forever realigning itself with circumstances and challenges as they arise—without losing sight of its objective.

After the studio’s broad and interchangeable past, we believe that design needs a strict outline and a flexible fill-in.

Studio Es was founded by Verena Panholzer in 2013, besides her role as an art director she is teaching at abk Stuttgart and the University of Applied Art Vienna. Since 2019 she is a member of AGI Alliance Graphique Internationale.
